GCM schools represent Australia at international youth theatre festival

The schools of the Greek Community of Melbourne are erstwhile again taking portion successful the Youth Theatre On Air 2026, representing Australia with 5 archetypal student-created audio theatre productions.

Now successful its seventh year, the planetary vigor theatre festival brings together young creatives from Greece, Cyprus and Australia. It is organised by Motivation successful Arts (Paphos), the Theatrical Visual Arts Centre (Thessaloniki) and Creative Drama & Arts (Melbourne), with ERT serving arsenic the authoritative media sponsor.

The productions were developed by students from the Community’s Greek Language and Culture Schools crossed Balwyn, Bentleigh and Mathesis campuses, under the guidance of play pedagogue Katerina Poutachidou.

The works item students’ creativity, collaboration and ongoing engagement with the Greek language, past and taste identity.

This year’s Australian entries include:

The Turnip – Balwyn (Year 4)

The Exodus of Messolonghi – Bentleigh (Years 3–6)

April and Love – Bentleigh (Year 9)

When Books Talk – Balwyn (Year 7)

The Komboloi – Mathesis (Years 7–8)
