Oakleigh Grammar shines at GOAANSE Games 2026 in Sydney

Students from Oakleigh Grammar proudly represented their schoolhouse astatine the 2026 Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia National Schools Event (GOAANSE Games), joining Greek Orthodox schools from crossed the state for a week celebrating sport, culture, religion and community.

Hosted by St Euphemia College successful Bankstown from 4–8 May, the nationalist lawsuit brought together students successful a spirit of affable contention and Hellenic connection.

The Games officially opened with a Doxology work astatine St Euphemia Greek Orthodox Church, where participating schools gathered successful supplication and reflection earlier contention began crossed aggregate sports including soccer, basketball, netball, volleyball, futsal and table tennis.

A large item of the week was the Performing Arts Festival, where students showcased music, poesy and creation celebrating Hellenic culture. Oakleigh Grammar students proudly performed Greek dances, highlighting their taste individuality and transportation to tradition.

Oakleigh Grammar achieved awesome results crossed the sporting competition, with the Girls Basketball Team finishing adjacent top with 5 wins and 1 loss, ultimately placing third wide connected percent successful a tightly contested division. The Girls Volleyball Team besides enjoyed a strong tournament, finishing 2nd wide with 5 wins and 1 loss.

Other Oakleigh Grammar teams displayed consistency, teamwork and resilience passim the week, while students besides built friendships and strengthened connections with peers from All Saints Grammar, St Andrew’s Grammar, St George College, St John’s College, St Spyridon College and St Euphemia College.

Principal Mark Robertson praised the students for their efforts and spirit passim the Games.

Oakleigh Grammar thanked St Euphemia College for hosting the 2026 lawsuit and acknowledged each participating schools for their sportsmanship and committedness passim the week.
