Man arrested after posing with gun on Facebook

A 48-year-old antheral from Peristeri, western Athens, was arrested aft posting a photograph of himself holding a handgun connected Facebook.

Officers from the Peristeri crimes unit tracked him down soon aft the station appeared online and searched his home, where they recovered and confiscated the pistol and a mag with 4 bullets hidden wrong a sofa compartment.

The antheral faces charges for violating Greece’s firearms instrumentality and has been referred to a prosecutor.

Police said the probe began aft the image, which besides showed 4 bullets placed connected a table, drew attraction online.
